The American Legion Auxiliary is committed to Education!
The Dewey Lowman Auxiliary 109 is pleased to offer our annual scholarship to a qualified high school senior who is a child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of a paid member of the Dewey Lowman American Legion Family. This includes direct, adopted, and stepchildren. The applicant should ideally be a Junior Member of the Dewey Lowman Auxiliary Unit 109 or Post 109 Sons of the American Legion Squadron.
- NEW IN 2026: Scholarship award increased from $1,000 to $2,000. APPLICATION IS OPEN TO ANY HIGH SCHOOL senior who is a child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of a paid member of the American Legion Family (Dewey Lowman members will be weighted as indicated on application.)
Applications are also available behind the bar in the Post 109 Canteen in early 2027, and they are available by contacting Carolyn Hyatt, Acting Education Chair, at 443-833-5532, or email carolynph711@yahoo.com.
The application, with all requested materials, must be received by the close of business on Tuesday, April 15, 2027.
Scholarship funds are paid directly to the accredited college or accredited trade/vocational school to which the awardee has committed to attending.
It’s not too early to begin planning – we welcome a hearty response in 2027!
